We are so excited to have some many amazing people across the world willing to celebrate our 100th Day of Vitamin Sea! This journey has been as much about this incredible global community as it has about our little swims, so we are absolutely delighted and honoured that you will be joining us in spirit, to end this project in style!
We are going to be doing our 100th swim at Llanddona Beach in Anglesey on Sunday 7th April 2019 at 13:00. However, do not feel like you have to stay within these constrains! You don't have to stick with the same time, or even necessarily the day - go with what works best with your schedule, the local conditions (including weather and tide) and when you feel you will most enjoy the experience.
As this project is called 100 Days of Vitamin Sea, we will ofcourse be going into the sea for a swim, however anything goes! So long as you are being active around the water, whether it be swimming, surfing, paddleboarding, going for a stroll along the beach or river, it counts. There are no rules so just see how you can enjoy being active around the water! Please don't feel any pressure to get in the water if you don't want to, but if you do fancy it, check out the RNLI website , or others for information about water safety and be sure to be well aware of the local conditions and how they impact your chosen location.
Some of you will be joining us from the Tropics, and others from as far north (so far) as Sweden, so please make sure to dress appropriately for the conditions where you are. In many of our videos we have swum in just swimwear, but if you are getting in the water somewhere cold and aren't used to the cold water we would recommend a wetsuit if you have one (we will almost certainly both be wearing ours!). Think too about footwear depending on the surface you will be getting into the water on and any local critters which could give you a nasty sting underfoot.
Our other top tips would be a nice dry towel, warm clothes to change into once you get out and a drink and/or snack for afterwards.
If you would be interested in being featured in our film please shoot a short video clip (on whatever you have available. It doesn't have to be a super fancy camera - although if possible please shoot in landscape orientation, i.e. phones on the side rather than the traditional portrait videos). It would be great to hear your name, where you are (show us a clip - we are nosey!) and how you feel before and after your swim. If you are a migraine sufferer we would love to hear about your experience with migraine and particularly if being active in nature is helpful for you too. Otherwise, just get creative!
Please share as well any photos on social media with the hashtag #100thdayofvitaminsea
